What we do - for the planet

The world is adjusting. The need for more sustainable solutions increases as new technologies break through. We are proud to develop, produce and deliver solutions that will minimize the environmental footprint in various of segments, industries and application areas. And we always strive to do better, to do more and to be ahead of our time.

Protect, respect, connect

We have over 8,000 products in our assortment. Each one is built to last and has an important function to fulfill; to protect and respect the surrounding environment by safely, easily and efficiently connecting and disconnecting systems with no or minimal spillage. With a continuous strive and curiosity, we develop both new and existing products that reflect current and future requirements.

The highest possible level of product performance enables customers to achieve better results with lower energy consumption and less of an environmental burden.

Our products: a sustainability promise

Less pollution

We are confident that our products make a difference, both in the short term and in the longer run. By choosing hydraulic couplings that ensure no oil spill, compressed air couplings that minimizes energy losses, or thermal control couplings with dry-break connections and disconnections, the environmental impact will be lower.

Built to last

CEJN as a brand is defined by high quality. Safe, energy-efficient and fault-free products with a long service life are instrumental for sustainable development. Using products that last is a sustainable choice for both business and the planet.

Minimizes energy losses

Product performance has always been and will always be a focus area for us. We know that by minimizing energy losses, both money and impact on the environment will be saved. Through careful tests and analyzes, our products reduce energy losses in customers’ systems without having an impact on the performance. In other words, a win-win situation.

From used to new:
CEJN repairability process

Regardless of which product in our assortment, we are proud to ensure a long life cycle with many operational hours – always with the highest level of safety and performance. We know, however, that one day the service life of the product will come to an end. Once that day comes, we have a well-developed spare parts assortment so that you at first hand can look into repairing the product and have it up and running for many more service hours. Good for you, good for the planet.

If not possible to repair the product, it can be recycled and the material used for new, innovative products.

Every choice matters

At our Swedish head quarter and production facilities, all choices are carefully made. We know that by taking concious choices, the bigger the overall effect. Here are some of our actively made choices that mirror our everyday business.

Energy usage

The electricity consumption at our Swedish headquarter, sales office, and production facility accounts for a very small part of CO2 emissions as the electricity purchased is generated through wind power.

Waste handling

By separating waste at the source we can maximize material recycling and energy recovery. One of our waste streams is metal filings from our manufacturing process. These are separated from any remaining cutting oil/fluid and sent for recycling. The separated cutting oil/fluid is re-used at CEJN. About 80% of purchased raw material goes back into the recycling flow in this way.

Transportation

CEJN has actively chosen a logistics and freight forwarding partner with a clearly stated goal of having zero emissions of carbon dioxide by 2050. This partner stands for about 90 % of all the freight transport and is followed up annually.

Chemical usage

All chemicals used are registered in a chemicals system which also contains safety data sheets. Before any new chemical is added, an assessment is carried out to determine whether or not it should be added, depending on what it contains. The principle is to avoid dangerous chemicals as far as possible or to use the least harmful chemicals.

Raw materials

A large part of our products consists of metal, mainly steel and brass. Processing metal is an energy intensive process that also gives rise to some waste material, so-called "chips". These chips are collected and returned to the supplier for recycling. In this way, the waste material can become new raw material.

Scrapping

Working to keep waste levels low in manufacturing means that we can avoid the origin of waste. It contributes to more efficient use of materials and energy, and reduces the amount of waste that needs to be handled, which can lead to financial savings as well as reduced load on resources.

A continuous mission:
Reduce carbon emissions

We continuously strive for reducing our carbon footprint. We already do much, but we always try to find ways to do more and actively choose greener options. We have identified four areas where we see how we can contribute the most to reducing the environmental impact:

1. Our products. By using high-performance products that last, there will be fewer claims and need for product replacements.

2. Electricity consumption. We support the development of renewable energy sources by buying our electricity from wind power.

3. Heating of facilities. We use district heating from a supplier intending to be climate positive by 2030.

4. Fossil-free energy. We actively choose environmentally friendly and fossil-free energy for our operations.

This is how we connect responsibility to our future
