CEJN’s Lead-Free initiative: Moving towards a completely lead-free product range

Lead has historically been a critical component in steel, brass, and various alloys due to its unique properties, which improve machinability, enhance material durability, and provide natural resistance to corrosion. However, the health and environmental risks associated with lead exposure have become increasingly evident, prompting industries worldwide to seek safer alternatives.
At CEJN, we have been committed to reducing the use of lead across all our products. We are proud to announce our lead-free initiative, aiming for a completely lead-free product range while maintaining our high standards of quality and reliability. Upgrading our production processes and product designs to eliminate lead reflects our dedication to sustainability and long-term safety for our customers and future generations.
Transitioning to lead-free materials while preserving the high performance and durability that define CEJN products is a complex and ongoing challenge. By sourcing and testing new material compounds, we are successfully implementing this initiative across our product range.
Look for the "Pb Free" symbol on products that have been updated to be completely lead-free.
Since this initiative started, we have made significant progress, reducing the lead content in our supplied raw materials from 0.56% to 0.36% since 2022.
This initiative underscores CEJN’s ambition to provide safer, more sustainable quick connect solutions without compromising on quality. By continually refining our materials and processes, we are ensuring the safety of our customers and the environment and setting a higher standard for the industry.
