Hi-Vis hoses increase workplace safety
Workplace floors can easily be cluttered with cables and hoses lying around as potential tripping hazards. The SafetyReel hose reels are available with hi-vis hoses to prevent tripping accidents. The hose color is designed to be easily spotted against most floors and increases the chance for anyone to spot it and step over it, instead of tripping over it.
Antistatic hose reels for first-class painting results
Different environments have different conditions and requirements for the equipment being used. Typical conductive hoses such as PUR and PVC are not ideal in painting environments, for example, as the spray paint will get stuck on the hoses. Using an antistatic hose reel with a non-conductive hose will keep the hose clean and soft as well as prevent electrostatic build-up. Add to that high flexibility and flow rate for first-class painting results, every time.

1. How do I adjust the spring tension on my hose reel?

4. How do I safely change the hose on my hose reel?

5. Why does my hose reel rewind too fast?
If the reel no longer brakes and the hose rewinds significantly faster than before, you can replace the worn-out brake shoe with a new one. To do this, you will need some tools and mechanical know-how. If you don't feel comfortable doing this, contact your local dealer for help. If you want to replace the brake shoe yourself, watch the instruction video.
6. Why is my hose reel not rewinding properly?
If you repeatedly use only the first portion of the hose, the hose can become tangled inside the reel. To prevent this, unwind the hose completely and let it rewind on its own so the hose guide system can work. If you still have problems with the hose not rewinding properly, please contact your local dealer for support.
7. What is the maximum recommended mounting height for the hose reel?
The maximum mounting height is limited by the spring force and the weight of the hose and media. We don't recommend mounting a hose reel higher than 4 m above the floor.
8. Can the hose reel be mounted in the ceiling?
Yes. When mounting the SafetyReel in the ceiling, choose a position so that the hose runs out of the opening towards the "bottom" of the reel (see picture). This makes the reel easier to operate.
9. Does the reel need additional securing when mounted in the ceiling?
No. The standard bracket and locking mechanism can withstand a pull force of around 100 kg. However, if extra safety is needed, a thin wire can be attached to one or both of the rear cover holes (see picture). To perform this operation, you may have to drill holes in the positions shown.
10. Does the reel work with negative pressure?
Yes. SafetyReel with PUR hose can be used with up to 90% vacuum.
11. What chemicals are compatible with my hose reel?
Review the Chemical Compatibility Guide for PUR (ether/ester), POM, PP, NBR and brass to find out which chemicals are compatible with your SafetyReel hose reel.
12. What should I do if the packaging is damaged when my reel arrives?
If the box is damaged on arrival, please contact the responsible logistics partner and check the reel for damage. The packaging has been tested according to ISTA regulations and transport damage should therefore first be reported to your logistics partner.
13. Can the hose reel be used for breathing air applications?
Standard SafetyReel should not be used for breathing air applications. SafetyReel bSafe hose reels are specifically designed for breathing air applications. A reel intended for breathing air applications must use breathing air-approved grease. Do not use standard pneumatic reels for breathing air applications. 14. Can the hose reels be used outdoors?
Yes, SafetyReel hose reels can be mounted outdoors.
15. Can I use water in a compressed air reel?
Some compressed air hose reels can also be used for water if the hose and all components in contact with the fluid are suitable for the application. SafetyReel G2 comes with a hose designed for both compressed air and water. Other hose reels must be selected with the proper hose. Please note that the spring may need to be adjusted to compensate for the increased weight of a water-filled hose.
16. What pull force can the bracket withstand?
The standard bracket can withstand a pull force of around 100 kg.
17. Can I repair my hose reel myself?
Yes. We have spare parts or spare kits for most hose reel components, allowing many repairs to be carried out rather than replacing the entire reel. You can find more information in the spare part guide.
18. Can the hose reel be used in food production?
The SafetyReel FS is specifically designed for the food and beverage industry, with all exterior parts and all components that come into contact with compressed air made from food-grade materials. Other variants are not recommended for use in food production.
19. How long can I expect my hose reel to last?
The service life depends on factors such as frequency of use and operating conditions. Based on extensive testing and field experience, SafetyReel hose reels are built to provide many years of reliable service. CEJN hose reels that have been in use for more than 10 years are still in operation. We also offer a wide range of spare parts to help maintain and extend the reel's service life.
