UQD couplings
OCP (Open Compute Project) Liquid cooling Dry break
The Universal Quick Disconnects (UQD) is a global standard for quick disconnect couplings developed within the OCP (Open Compute Project). UQD is an Intel initiative for an open standard spill-free quick couplings for liquid cooling in data centers.
Technical data
| Nominal flow diameter (mm) | 3.2, 6.4, 9.5, 12.7 mm |
| Max working pressure (bar) | 10 bar |
| Main material | Stainless steel (AISI 303) |
The universal standard for efficient quick disconnects for liquid cooling systems
CEJN offers four sizes of the UQD, UQD02, UQD04, UQD06 and UQD08, specifically designed for liquid cooling applications in HPC and data centers. The UQD is a standard initiated by Intel and developed as an open standard within OCP (Open Compute Project).
As an open standard, any manufacturer's products are connectable by following the specifications of the UQD standard. With CEJN high precision manufacturing and long experience in high-quality quick disconnect couplings for a wide range of applications, our range of UQD quick couplings is guaranteed to meet and exceed the standard specifications.
Features
- Spill-free design with minimum air intrusion at connection
- Redundant sealing with double EPDM rubber seals to eliminate the risk of leaks
- Full stainless steel design for improved fluid compatibility
- Meets and exceeds standard specifications
- Compact design to fit any liquid cooling application
- Hot-swappable allowing connection and disconnection under pressure

CEJN – Open Compute Project (OCP) Solution Provider
CEJN is an active contributor to the Open Compute Project (OCP) and participates directly in the development of OCP liquid cooling coupling standards. Our quick couplings are designed to meet these standards, ensuring full compatibility, safety, and optimal performance. All CEJN OCP solutions are developed and produced in-house, giving full control over quality, reliability, and delivery.
UQD / UQDB – Contributed with testing and collaboration with other manufacturers.
BMQC – Supported development and testing to ensure reliable, fully compatible couplings.
LQC – Co-developing the standard initiated by Meta, contributing with design, testing and production.
PBMC – Supported development and testing to ensure reliable, fully compatible couplings.
No clamps or ferrules with push-lock hose and hose barb
The hose connection defined in the UQD standard is of push-lock hose barb type. The use of a push-lock styled hose enables quick, secure and leak-free connection without using ferrules or hose clamps. The hose barb is designed to lock onto the hose by just pushing the hose onto the barbs. The plastic stop ring ensures that the hose is properly fitted on the hose barb for a secure and leak-free connection.
