Increased performance and no more oil leaks for Reinhard Recycling after installing CEJN TLX

Reinhard Recycling had a problem with oil leaks when disconnecting their couplings from the hydraulic attachments. They were recommended CEJN TLX, a super-duty coupling solution designed to work with the greatest surge flows and toughest pressure impulses. Now TLX has been installed on all their machines and attachments, making everyday work easier and safer for the operators.

High surge flows are the most common reason for the failure of quick-connect couplings in heavy-duty applications. The surge flows can be several times greater than the ordinary flow rate in the machine, causing seal failures and internal damage that results in leakages and machine downtime. Reinhard Recycling, a Swiss recycling company, has experienced this. “With our previous coupling solution, one decilitre of oil was spilled at each disconnect,” says Fritz Blaser, co-owner of Reinhard Recycling.

Designed to withstand the highest surge flows

Reinhard Recycling was founded in 1920 and recycles materials of many different kinds. There is high demand for their machinery, hydraulic attachments and components, which also makes high demands of their suppliers. After experiencing severe oil losses when disconnecting the hydraulic attachments, they turned to CEJN. “We’ve been using CEJN TLX 907 for around three years now and have never had any problems,” says Fritz Blaser.

Couplings not made to withstand thougher surge flows will, apart from oil leakages, break more easily and might cause unintentional disconnections. Fritz Blaser points out that before CEJN TLX was installed, the couplings would too often disconnect and/or break down, resulting in time-consuming standstills and maintenance work. “Since the implementation of CEJN TLX, we’ve seen a great increase in work performance and flow rate.”
