CEJN provides Bemco Hydraulics with safe and reliable ultra-high-pressure hydraulic equipment for re-railing operations

In an efficient re-railing operation, every detail in the process counts towards minimizing the degree of stranded traffic. Bemco Hydraulics, an Indian manufacturer and supplier of hydraulic re-railing equipment, knows the importance of having high-quality and well-performing equipment in order to complete on-site operations as safely and efficiently as possible. CEJN’s ultra-high-pressure hydraulic equipment meets Bemco Hydraulics’ quality standards and ensures proper connections and disconnections throughout the operation.

Bemco Hydraulics is Asia’s largest manufacturer and supplier of hydraulic re-railing equipment to Indian Railways and neighbouring countries. With the largest rail network in the world, and with continued growth, Bemco’s mission is to complete every rescue operation as swiftly as possible and without compromising on safety.

Time and reliable equipment are of the essence

In re-railing operations, there are no second chances. Every rescue operation must be completed successfully and without leaving room for human error. Therefore, every detail and component in the equipment setup counts. Components like quick-connect couplings can make all the difference in an operation’s success.

“We are in the rescue and recovery business of railway operations globally. Every component of the re-railing system must be safe, reliable and of the highest quality’”

- Anirudh Mohta, Managing Director - Technical at Bemco Hydraulics

CEJNs ultra-high-pressure hydraulic couplings eliminate the possibility of cross-connections due to human error, ensuring safe and reliable connections – even when working in darkness.

J Anand, President of Bemco Hydraulics, says, ‘Restoration and rescue work starts with a connection and completes after a disconnection. The time gap between the connection and disconnection is crucial and challenging as human life might be at stake.

“In these twenty years, we have accomplished every task successfully, something that wouldn’t have been possible without the high-pressure couplings and hoses supplied from CEJN.”

Quick connect couplings – a key link

Within every 50 kilometer range of the railway line, there are stations equipped with high-pressure hydraulic jacks and actuators. These stations also have related systems made of aircraft-grade aluminum forgings and extrusions for effortless handling at accident sites. During operation, there must not be any weak links in the hydraulic lines. The quick connect couplings are essential to this as they link the control table and the lifting jacks.

Quick connect couplings are an essential part of the rescue operation as they

link the control table and the lifting jacks.

Hydraulic jacks are also used to lift and shift reinforced cement concrete (RCC) underpasses weighing 500 to 700 tonnes a distance of 30 to 40 meters. Each of these hydraulic actuators has a capacity from 20 up to 150 tonnes and a stroke ranging from 100 mm to 1100 mm. The connection between the main hydraulic control station and the actuator is completed with CEJN quick-connect couplings and hoses, ensuring a smooth and safe operation.

“All the users of the equipment and the service personnel acknowledge the visual alert ring and the bayonet locking, which eliminates unintentional disconnection taking safety to the next level”, says Sanjeev D Neginhal, Manager of Re-railing at Bemco Hydraulics.
