The cost of compressed air is high. We can save massive energy on optimizing existing compressed air systems. Saving energy is crucial, both for the sake of the environment but also for economical reasons.
Leakage control is the quickest way to save energy and the return of that investment is normally 3-6 months.
Often, leakage on a site rounds up to about 20-30% of the total energy consumption. Hose clamps are often a weak link. A one-millimeter hole costs around 800 Euro every year. When there are leakages, the compressor needs to work harder to provide enough air to the tools and this is where you start losing money.
When ineffective hoses have been replaced and leaking clamps have been removed, the next step in the optimization process is to put the right product at the right place. Optimized tools and optimized components with the lowest possible pressure drop will put less stress on the compressor.
