Safe Bolt Tensioning

Bolt tensioning with CEJN 116 T-connection
- With safe, high-performance hydraulics
Bolt tensioning is a method of controlled tightening which applies load to a bolt by stretching it axially. Mechanical efforts to create torque are replaced with hydraulic ultra-high pressure. CEJN ultra high pressure couplings and nipples are standard products for these kinds of applications, our engineers have long experience and CEJN guarantee safe and high performing quality products.
Below is a more precise explanation of how bolt tensioning works.
Original state of bolt and nut before stretching.
The bolt tensioning tool is assembled onto the bolt to be tightened. The hydraulic coupling/hose is attached.
Hydraulic pressure is applied to the tensioner from a tensioning pump.
The nut is wound down against the joint force.
Pressure is released and the bolt remains with accurate load.
The hydraulic equipment is disconnected followed by removal of the tensioner.
State of bolt after stretching. The bolt behaves like a spring: when the pressure is released the bolt is under tension, creating the required clamping force across the joint.
