It is estimated that 7 to 10 per cent of industrial electricity consumption in Germany is used for the production of compressed air. It is also known that 30 to 40 per cent of compressed air is used to compensate for the pressure loss caused by leaks. This means that 2 to 5 per cent of industrial electricity consumption is literally "blown into the air".

To effectively counteract this loss, the weak points in the compressed air network must first be identified and then rectified.
