Quick coupling solutions for data centers

Cooling for data centers is undergoing a huge change. The increasing demand for cloud, AI, IoT and edge applications is driving the requirement for increased cooling capacity. Liquid cooling can meet the capacity while also being more energy-efficient and cost-efficient. Investing in liquid cooling is an investment in future requirements.

There are several designs of liquid cooling systems that have proven effective. Common solutions in which liquids are used for cooling include single-phase and two-phase direct-to-chip liquid cooling and immersive cooling (also known as submerged cooling or open-bath cooling). There are also rear-door heat exchangers where the air is used for component cooling but liquids are used for air temperature management.

Regardless of the choice of liquid cooling solution, quick couplings play an important role to facilitate maintenance and for the system to be as efficient as possible.

Quick couplings with low pressure drop lowers running energy costs

Quick couplings with low pressure drop performance should be the preferred choice as this will keep the flow unrestricted and a lower system pressure for all system components, pump and cooling circuit components. This is an opportunity to down-size pump selection to reduce investment and running energy costs.

Pre-filled systems facilitate maintenance

With quick couplings, there is the option to work with prefilled systems when doing maintenance to decrease the downtime. Non-drip couplings will guarantee that there is no spill on connection or disconnection.
